ESTHER M. SPRAYBERRY SCOFIELD

Esther M. Scofield 87, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at Savannah Square Retirement Community. Mrs. Scofield was a native of Newnan, Georgia and was a resident of Indian Harbor, Florida for 42 years before moving to Savannah 4 years ago. During WWII, Mrs. Scofield was a rural route postal carrier having one of the largest routes in Newnan. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Abshire Scofield.

Surviving are, her daughter, Melonie E. Scofield of Laurel, Maryland, her son and daughter-in-law, Caroll Abshire and Stephanie Scofield of Richmond Hill, Georgia and her grandchildren, Natalie S. Hatala of Guyton, Georgia and Samantha Scofield of Richmond Hill, Georgia.

Visitation will be Monday, April 28, 2008 form 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with burial at 12:30 p.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.
